Making Your Reservation

Q: What do I need to secure my vacation rental home?

A: If you are submitting a booking request within 30 days of your vacation, the full reservation amount is due at the time of booking in order to secure your rental dates. If you are booking ahead of time, 40% of the reservation is due at the time of booking, 30% is due 60 days before your arrival date, and the remaining 30% is due 30 days before your arrival date.

Q: Will I save money if I book directly with BeachBox?

A: Yes! Many travelers aren’t aware that most online travel websites (such as Airbnb and VRBO) charge a significant service fee on top of the reservation total when booking on their website.

Reserving your vacation rental directly with us will save you a considerable amount of money, not to mention time. Our Reservationists are here to help during the booking process and throughout your stay, plus our easy-to-use website features over 50 of the top Beach House Vacation Rentals in our area!

Check out all of the benefits of booking direct here.

Q: Do the vacation rentals have internet and cable?

A: Yes! All of our vacation rentals have high-speed WIFI that can support multiple devices at one time, as well as online streaming and Zoom video conferencing. All of our vacation rentals also have Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own streaming service accounts such as Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney +.

Q: Does the vacation rental property come with a grill? Is it gas or charcoal?

A: Yes, all of our properties have a charcoal grill for our guests to use. We provide all of the grilling tools, but guests will need to bring their own charcoal and lighter fluid.

Q: Does the property have a coffee maker, and if so what kind? Traditional or Keurig?

A: Yes. All of our properties have a traditional drip coffee maker, as well as coffee filters. We also provide house ground coffee, but feel free to bring your own favorite blend!

Q: Can we bring our dogs to the vacation rental property?

A: Nearly all of our properties are pet friendly! Check the Pet Policy section of the property page to verify the number of pets allowed inside each home. BeachBox does charge a separate pet fee that can be added at checkout. We ask that all pets stay off the furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard, and aren’t left alone inside the home unless in a kennel. Sorry, we don’t allow cats.

Q: Can we bring a large trailer or an RV?

A: Many of our beach vacation properties are located in neighborhoods that have strict HOA policies that don’t allow oversized vehicles. Contact us as there are some exceptions.

Q: Are there high chairs or other equipment for babies at the rental available for us to use?

A: Unfortunately due to liability concerns, we cannot provide any baby equipment. We recommend bringing your child’s items from home or renting from a local concierge service. Ask us for company recommendations!

Q: Are beach chairs and beach towels provided?

A: We do not provide any beach accessories, however there may be some items at the home left by previous guests that you’re welcome to use. We suggest bringing beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, coolers — anything to make your beach days a blast!  If you’d like to rent these items, contact us for our local recommendations.

Q: Where can I rent a golf cart for my stay?

A: There are multiple golf cart rental companies in Galveston and Surfside that will deliver your golf cart directly to your BeachBox rental. Ask us for more details!

Q: Are there community pools available and do BeachBox vacation renters have access?

A: The community pools on Galveston Island are generally open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, every year.

The Jamaica Beach community pool is open to the general public and is $5 per person per day.

The Sea Isle community pool is open to Sea Isle guests only. Pool passes are available for purchase for $100, which covers up to 10 guests for 7 days.

The Terramar Beach community pool is open to Terramar Beach guests only with our provided pool key.

Q: If I’ve booked a beachfront property, can I leave my tent and beach chairs set up on the beach overnight?

A: We do not recommend leaving any personal property on the beach overnight or unattended during the day for any long period of time. Beach Patrol may remove them or they may be stolen while you are away from your spot at the beach.

Q: If I’ve booked a beachfront property, do I have exclusive access to the beach in front of the home?

A: No, all beaches in the state of Texas are public beaches.

Q: Are there grocery stores on Galveston Island?

A: In town there are larger grocery stores with more selection. We recommend you get the bulk of your groceries at one of the larger stores (Randalls, Kroger or Walmart) before you get to your BeachBox vacation rental property. There are also several small grocery and convenience stores on the West End, including Seven Seas Grocery in Jamaica Beach and Hummel’s in Pirates Beach.

There are also several grocery delivery services available on the Island to have your groceries delivered to your BeachBox vacation rental. Contact us for our recommendations!

Q: Are there mosquitoes and snakes to be aware of in Galveston and Surfside?

A: Unfortunately mosquitos are simply part of gulf coast living. The county maintains a regular spraying schedule, but we always recommend bringing bug spray with DEET to ensure your comfort while outdoors.

There have also been rattlesnake sightings in the dunes by the beach. Please use caution when using dune walkovers or walking in the grass near the beach. Always keep an eye on your children and pets.

Q: What’s the weather like on Galveston Island?

A: Click here for the upcoming 10 day forecast!

Q: Are there any restaurants or places to eat?

A: Galveston has a fantastic food scene, check out our team’s favorite restaurants in the area here.

The stay at the Navigator was awesome! My whole immediate family was able to stay in this one house and it worked perfectly. The house, the views and the easy walk to the beach were amazing. We hope to make this an annual event.
