What to Pack (And What Not to Pack) on Your Texas Gulf Coast Vacation

At BeachBox, we’re all about making your vacay as stress-free and smooth as possible. With that in mind, we’ve put together this helpful list to let you know all of the items that will be available to you when you arrive at your Texas Gulf Coast rental home. 

Keep this list handy as you pack for your trip. Hopefully, this will help you spend less time at the store— and more time on the sand! As always, give us a call or drop us a line if you have any questions. We can’t wait to see you!

What to Bring

This is the stuff you’ll want to consider packing, having delivered, or stopping by the store to pick up.

For the Kitchen:

  • Paper towels (if 1 roll will not be enough)
  • Napkins
  • Foil and plastic wrap
  • Olive oil or cooking oil
  • Cooking spices
  • Any specific cooking tools or appliances not listed below
  • Sugar and cream for your coffee
  • A bag of ice
  • Bottled water
  • All groceries (can have these delivered to your rental as well— just ask us how)

For the Grill:

  • Charcoal
  • Lighter fluid

For the Beach:

  • Beach towels
  • Beach chairs
  • Tent and/or an umbrella
  • Cooler
  • Portable speaker
  • Beach toys and games
  • Sunscreen
  • Guests can also rent beach accessories from local vendors, contact us for details!

Other Basics:

  • Mosquito repellant with DEET
  • Dryer sheets
  • Personal shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hair tools
  • Board games, card games, or books
  • If you’re interested in renting a golf cart, or baby equipment (crib, high chair) contact us for our local recommendations and deals!

And most importantly, your sense of complete relaxation and enjoyment of the Texas Gulf Coast!

What Not to Bring

These are the items and supplies that will already be made available to you as our guest. 

Kitchen Basics:

  • Salt and pepper
  • Folgers coffee grounds
  • Coffee filters
  • Dishwasher detergent
  • 1 roll of paper towel
  • Kitchen trash bags
  • Kitchen towels and pot holders
  • Sponge and a scrub brush
  • Dish soap
  • Cooking basics
    • A set of pots and pans
    • Cooking utensils
    • Silverware for your home’s guest capacity
    • Dishware for your home’s guest capacity
    • Glassware for your home’s guest capacity
    • Bakeware
    • Cutting boards
    • Knife set 
    • Serving bowls/mixing bowls
  • Countertop appliances
    • Blender
    • Toaster
    • Coffee maker

Household Supplies:

  • Laundry detergent
  • Iron and an ironing board
  • First aid kit
  • Broom and a dustpan
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Basic cleaning supplies


  • Travel size shampoo for each shower
  • Bar soap for each shower
  • Hand soap
  • 3-4 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom
  • Hand towels and washcloths

Linens and Towels:

  • Linens and pillows for all beds, including any sleeper sofas or futons
  • Bath towels for each guest up to the home’s capacity

Barbeque Area:

  • Charcoal grill
  • Grilling tools

And most importantly, we provide a comfortable and relaxing space to spend time with your family and friends!
