For a little bit of adventure or a touch of romance on your vacation, book a horse ride on the beach. This family owned and operated business offers guided tours for 2-3 people. Riding experience is preferred but not required.

Fort Velasco

This historical marker is a reproduction of the original Fort Velasco, built during the Texas Revolution. It once served as a temporary capital of the Republic of Texas. Learn more about it at the museum on the second floor of City Hall.

Kelly Hamby Nature Trail

This walking trail has beach access and features a natural habitat for birds such as the scissor-tailed flycatchers and orchard orioles. Visit in late September and early October to glimpse the annual Monarch migration.

Surfside Crabbing Pier

The Surfside Crabbing Pier is the best-known spot for crabbing in the Brazosport area. Fun for both adults and kids, just tie a chicken neck to a string, drop it in the water, and wait for a bite!

Surfside Bird & Butterfly Trail

This 2.5-mile trail is surrounded by native plants and woodland and bordered by the Freeport Harbor. While on a relaxing walk, you may spot butterflies, herons, pelicans, egrets, terns and more!

Surfside Jetty County Park

Surfside Jetty Park features a parking area with access to the beach, harbor channel, and jetty, a playground, and restrooms. Have a picnic while watching the boats or spend the day fishing, birdwatching, beachcombing, and shelling.
