“Amazing place”

“Big Tuna was the perfect house for our 6 couple church retreat. The layout was fantastic, the accommodations were good. Kitchen was big. Had the weather been nicer we would have all sat at the same table outside but we had to utilize the big round table for 8 and the 4 bar stools at the counter. It was very close to the beach, walking distance easily. It was a good find.”

“We had an awesome stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Plenty of space for our group, and everything we needed was provided — from kitchen essentials to fresh linens. The location was perfect, close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space — it was perfect for hanging out together and grilling up our fresh catch after a day on the water 🎣🔥. Communication with the host was easy and quick, which made check-in and check-out a breeze. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the welcoming touches that made the stay even better. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area, and we’d happily stay here again!”

“8 adults and 2 kids were more than comfortable.The home clean and cared for. One ceiling fan controller was missing- but my son found that he could down load an app to be able to use the fan. We could’ve used another couple towels- but overall it was a great stay. ”

“This house exceeded our expectations. Super clean, great layout, it was perfect for my friends and our kids. The kitchen is big, with plenty of dishes, cups, pans, trays, etc... The area was peaceful and quiet, short walking distance to the beach. The host was quick to respond, and always friendly and helpful. “Our family very much enjoyed our stay. The beach house is beautiful with plenty of space. Only a few minor details that would keep me from saying it was perfection. The room I stayed in happened to have a lingering smell of foot odor. Every other room smelled fine. After a few days it seemed a little better. As a family who loves watching TV in bed, more TVs in the bedrooms would be top notch. But a marvelous stay with ease of access to the beach! Go down to Allex’s fish market and get some fresh seafood to cook in the fabulous kitchen with your family. Fun times!”

“This home provide a large and comfortable base to explore the nearby coastal area. There was plenty of space and good communication from our hosts. The home’s layout encouraged the right balance of private recharge areas with more socially inviting ones. Worth noting, even essentials like salt and oil were not on hand in the pantry.”

“Beautiful house… our group loved the bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Close to the beach. The house was very clean except the rugs. The few recommendations I have are that for our group size the house didn’t have enough towels, mini sized soap and some of the essentials were missing in the kitchen.”

“Everything about the house was perfect. Our whole group said next time we are in town we need to rent this exact house again! Only issue which I did call and let someone know, we could not get the front door to lock on the outside the door handle is very loose. Even with following the instructions on how to lock, it would not.”

“BigTuna was great! The house was spacious enough to accommodate 10 people with plenty of room. Loved that almost all the rooms had in-room bathrooms. Location is a quick walk to the beach, the pier for fishing, and the marina restaurant. We didn’t mind the ~30 minute drive to downtown Galveston for activities. We really enjoyed our stay. Host is very communicative.”

“This home was perfect for our staff retreat! The hosts stayed in contact with us the whole stay and had clear directions upon check in and check out. The home was steps away from the beach and a quick drive to town! ”

“Over all a 3/5. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The house was nice. However, the refrigerator doesn't keep food cool or cold. The freezer doesn't freeze, we had to purchase a cooler and Ice for the days of our stay and the dryer doesn't dry. other then that. Everything else was good.”

“We originally reserved another house but maintenance issues brought us to this one. I was really worried about the stairs but the house worked out perfect. It was alot further from where we wanted to be but it was beautiful and very calming. The host was very kind. We had a bit of a family crisis and she was very understanding on the situation which was very awesome. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!”

“We really enjoyed our family reunion at This home. It is big enough to spread out but quaint enough to be close together. Kitchen is perfect for buffet style or sit down dinners. Air conditioner works great and furniture is comfortable. There is a place across main road to park extra cars (across main road from sea isle supermarket then turn left to parking lot at beach access parking lot ) in case you have more cars than allowed by home instructions. We found this out from local friends on Sea Isle.”

“Great house and floor plan for our group! We all loved the space! Unfortunately our stay was rained out every single day so we didn't get to do the beach and had to entertain ourselves at the house. We did point out some items that weren't working properly and got some generic responses back advising us to trouble shoot the issues ourselves which when we did, nothing got fixed. None of the outside power outlets on the garage level (then later on the first deck level) worked which made it hard to do some things downstairs without power. Don't know if the issues were from the recent hurricane that came through before our visit or just all the rain. The host told us to try the breaker box but from what we could tell, that required some tools to open the box which we did not have. All in all, it was a good stay for our group despite the rain. We would say here again.”

“We were really pleased with our house! It was very comfortable and homey feeling! Not too far from the beach. We placed a grocery pickup order and picked it up on the way thru Galveston because there are not many places to get groceries in the area! I would recommend taking extra bath towels, kitchen towels, and paper towels, paper plates and throw away utensils. There were plenty of dishes and utensils but it makes it easier not to have to wash dishes as much! Besides there is not a dish drain and you only get 3 kitchen towels! I recommend bringing a dish drying mat. The bathrooms were very nice but they didn’t have any place to hang your towels to reuse them and the towel hanger by the sink was placed so low that you couldn’t hang a hand or bath towel only a wash cloth. All in all we had a great time staying at the Big Tuna/BeachBox”

“The home was beautiful, linens clean, and home welcoming. Beach Box was so responsive throughout the booking process and even upon arrival. It was great to find a place with all the king beds and en suites for all our extended family to have a comfortable space for the weekend. We went with the ordering pizza and catering route, so we didn’t really cook, but it looked like basic appliances and pots and pans were well appointed. Rented a golf cart which was great to get around. Beach access parking is right across the main road and easy to walk to, but golf cart was nice for the grandparents and trips back to the house as needed. No Keurig, fyi. We didn’t even check and all brought coffee pods, but there is a regular percolating coffee pot with filters. Outdoor furniture on deck was really nice and we spent a lot of time outside. Parking for more than 4-5 vehicles in driveway may be tight. We had 4 and fit comfortably. Awesome private pier for fishing in Sea Isle neighborhood with bait shop right there. Thanks! ”

“Very accommodating and beautiful home! All bedrooms have king beds (some rooms have additional bunkbeds), and there are a lot of bathrooms in the house. The kitchen is well-equipped for a large family. The beach is a short walk. We will likely book this house again because it is just perfect for our growing family!”

“Let me first start by saying this place is Huge! Everyone was happy that they all pretty much had a bathroom to themselves or just with their room mate which makes for a nice and easy vacation when one has Teenagers. The house is very clean and spacious. I personally loved the top patio where I could easily enjoy the sunrise and the sun set. We did happen to go on the same weekend that one of the neighbors was having what seemed to be a Quinceanera, there was very load music and off key singing late into the night however, that was a fluke and in no way fault or in the power of the owners’ of this amazing house. The sun took so much out of us from spending the entire day at the beach right down the road that we were able to fall asleep in the midst of the noise. The colorful sky in the evening was spectacular and had all of us reaching for the camera. I happened to be the only one up come sun rise and it was just as magnificent. All in all I’d come back several times!”
