There is a lovely area out back with a pond (tank if you are from around here). I plan to stay again soon.”

“The place was just as described and was close to everything. The owner of the home was very friendly and super accommodating. He took time to offer advice on fishing and restaurants. The response time from BeachBox was very quick, but different than being in contact with an actual owner. Often times, they had to reach out for answers or they sent "pre-written" responses that didn't quite answer my question. This was a nice place for our short stay. Again, really appreciated the owner's help and friendliness while we were there!”

Our only complaint was the bed was pretty hard and would squeak every time we moved. Other than that it was a great experience! I will say however the Sofa Sleeper definitely only fits 1 adult or two small children and main bed could squeeze in me and my mom if needed. Other than that we absolutely loved this house and definitely look forward to renting here again.”

“Over the stay was nice here compared to their other properties. The home owners lives close and can tell they check in and make sure it’s being cleaned and maintained. We met with them briefly and were enjoyable. Overall a nice place for a quick in town stay. Notice the home is handicap accessible so things are to be extremely short.”

Beautiful horse just wish I had more time & maybe meet him. A couple things in the home that were not up to par but not a bad experience, I’m grateful for that.”

“First time visit....id come back Positive: Cottage was easy to find ,quiet neighborhood about 15 minute walk to beach access. I liked the raised toilet and was glad to have a kitchen. Husband liked bed better than i did. Own parking spot. I like Galveston. Plenty of things to do, places to eat and beaches to walk upon. Also we missplaced the house key and they were pretty calm about it. We did locate it after a few days. So Phew...We ate at Katies Seafood and the Cajun Greek. Which were both excellent places. Dawns donuts on stewart rd also better than the other places near by. Well cooked not greasy lots of flavor....Overall id come back ...town is busy on the weekends . Galveston has a lot to offer. Negative: I wish that one blanket had been provided. The bed had a sheet and a lovely thin quilt. Only had one towel and one wash cloth each for 7 night stay. Had only one dish towel ended up using extra wash cloth for dishes and had brought my own dish towel. Garbage disposal had rotten fishy smell so i ran lime zest orange zest and a few ice cubes...took me a few days to figure out location of smell. I found the stove a challenge but figured it out. The smoke alarm very sensitive and when you use the oven exhaust fan the air re circulates into the home. Since no soap was provided for dishwasher. We didnt try to use it. Also the metal shutters were over the windows and we were not sure if we were allowed to open them. I think a note with what the owners preferred would have been better approach. The owners seem to live in the attached house and seemed very nice, felt reluctant to ask for anything or inquire...so bad on me i guess. I did take the dishcloth to laundromat when i did a load of laundry. I usually have an extra blanket of sorts in my car. Note the ac/heat worked fine.”

“Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. There were cockroaches throughout the unit, including in the bedroom. When we arrived, there was also a very strong chemical smell, which made it seem like insect spray had just been used right before check-in. The listing was also misleading. I specifically searched for an “entire place,” and the photos showed what appeared to be a standalone home with a large yard and lake. In reality, the unit is part of a duplex/triplex, which is not clearly stated anywhere in the listing. Additionally, the kitchen was missing basic necessities such as a bottle opener, cutting board, dish drying rack, and scissors, which made it difficult to cook or use the space comfortably. Overall, the cleanliness issues and inaccurate listing description made this stay far below expectations.”

“The place is great but the first night it was cold, could not access thermostat, finally someone came out. There were no blankets for the sleeper couch only two sheets in bedding closet. The main bed had just one thin blanket. There was communication issues with host trying to remedy this problem. Finally went to Wal Mart and bought blankets later that night. Other than that the place is really nice. Recommend just hope there are no issues for you.”
