Jardin Del Mar

A Bayfront Picnic and Fishing Day With Scenic Views

El Jardín del Mar Beach, also known as El Jardin Beach Park, is a small bayfront getaway with a relaxed, local feel. It is a small, scenic waterfront park of about four and a half acres, with benches, picnic tables, and easy access, for a low-key day focused on breezy views and fishing rather than big Gulf surf. It is a perfect setting for family picnic days, snack breaks by the water, and an easy afternoon outdoors without a lot of planning.

Visitor Guide

Plan Your Perfect Day At El Jardin del Mar Beach

📍Location

El Jardin del Mar Beach Park is located at 500 El Jardin Dr in the Seabrook area, managed by the City of Pasadena. It is also an easy day trip from Galveston, about 30 miles away and roughly a 35 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic.

Admission is free for Pasadena residents with a valid ID showing a Pasadena address. Non-residents pay 10 dollars per adult and 5 dollars per child ages 3 to 12, and there is a non-resident car season pass option listed at 150 dollars.

  • Benches
Plenty of places to sit and take in the view when you want a low-effort, relaxing setup.
  • Picnic tables
A strong choice for snack breaks, lunch, and easy family meals without balancing everything in the sand.
  • Fishing access
Fishing is one of the main draws here, making it a great option for families who want to mix sit and relax time with a simple activity.
  • Lake and bayou views
This spot is centered around calm water scenery, which gives the day a quieter, more nature-forward feel.
  • Scenic, smaller-scale shoreline
At about four and a half acres, it is compact and easy to navigate, which works well for short visits and low-stress outings.

Keep your setup respectful and easy for everyone. Clean up all trash, keep music at a reasonable volume, and follow posted signs and on-site guidance.

Because this is a bayou and bay setting, it is best to keep an eye on kids near the water’s edge and stay aware of changing weather, wind, and tides. If you are fishing, keep hooks and gear organized so little ones can move around safely.

This is a great warm-weather spot for breezy afternoons and sunset views. Shoulder season days can be especially nice when you want cooler temperatures and fewer people.

El Jardin del Mar Beach is ideal for a simple bayfront reset. Pack a picnic, plan some fishing time, and treat it like a scenic stop you can pair with a relaxed coastal drive and an easy meal after.

Make your Jardin Del Mar Beach trip even easier by staying nearby. BeachBox offers a variety of vacation home rentals just minutes from Jardin Del Mar Beach, giving you a comfortable place to unwind after a perfect day soaking up the sun and surf.

A small clean and quiet beach. Waves in this area seemed to be generated by passing ships. Otherwise. It was flat and calm waters. Great place for a swim or to cast a fishing line out.

My family and I visited here for the first time yesterday and I must say, this is the best beach outside of Houston that I’ve been to. It’s clean and not crowded. We went on a Saturday and didn’t have to pay for parking.
