Sam Houston National Forest

The Sam Houston National Forest sits on 163,037 acres and is one of four National Forests in the state of Texas. The 128-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail, a portion of which has gained National Recreation Trail status, winds through the Sam Houston National Forest.
