“After laying a loved one to rest, this cozy beach house was exactly what my family needed to unwind. There were 15 of us, with plenty of space! Each room was set up beautifully, nice open kitchen, very clean bathrooms, and the laundry room was definitely needed after a long beautiful day at the beach. The pool was great as well! Sitting out on the balcony was relaxing after eating burgers on the grill. Every second was absolutely amazing with my family. I would definitely book again! Perfect place to make memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you for hosting us, your attentiveness was greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼”

“The Big Kahuna was such a beautiful house for our large family of 19 plus a puppy. The canal was the perfect place to get everyone outside and fishing. The rooms were all very neat and large with so many beds and private restrooms. I would say there were small issues but after contacting Chris, he immediately responded with a solution. Another thing we did notice was the very "observing" neighbor. She made sure to always have something to say to us from when we first arrived until the last day. We are all adults and knew the rules from the contract that was signed but she definitely had something to say daily. Started by letting us know we couldn't park in the street which we knew but were just trying to unload and get situated. Next day, when fishing she made sure to tell us not to fish in her area and not to leave shrimp or hooks on the floor, which is common sense because we have kids and a dog and could read all her signs outside. Overall, everything was great except for that.”

“This place was an excellent value for the size! We were there during winter months so the rate was extremely affordable. There were 16 of us and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. There were a few maintenance issues while we were there but nothing that kept us from being comfortable. Chris is EXTREMELY quick to respond and very helpful. I recommend this place at least for the rate we paid. We didn’t utilize the dock or outside much because of the weather but looked very nice. I do recommend to anyone looking to stay that you bring our own coffee, water bottles, and a bag of ice. We have stayed places that were a lot better stocked, but it wasn’t anything that was misrepresented in the listing, just a personal note. We were very thankful for this place! It severed us well.”

Chris’s place was perfect for us to unwind and spend quality time with each other. We all love to fish and being on the canal was just what we needed. Love making those core memories. “Very lovely home, enjoyed the deck and canal sitting area. Lots of bedrooms with extra beds for kiddos. Living area is a bit small if you have lots of people but couch was comfy. Kitchen was huge and all bathrooms were nice and big. 2 big picnic tables outside and large kitchen table inside. ”

“This place is ideal for large families or multi-family groups. Kitchen was VERY well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 levels of deck space! Responsiveness to inquiries was almost immediate - best in 10 years of home rentals! All bedrooms have a small en-suite except the downstairs bunkroom. Most beds were pretty soft, so if you have back issues, arrive early to claim an upstairs bed. Upstairs closets have been converted to bunks, so limited storage there. Outside seating is either tall wooden chairs (comfy!) or wooden picnic tables, but there are several (BYO for alternatives). Climbing stairs is part of the daily routine - those with knee issues may have trouble. Bathrooms are functional, not luxury, but that's not why you're there. Neighborhood is quiet during the week, and locals were friendly. Having a boat slip was amazing, and being on the canal was fun for fishing! Local markets are well stocked with sundries. Blvd Seafood & Gumbo Diner are our favorite restaurants in town.”

“My stay was very short, but well worth it. We had a small family gathering for my 16 year old who loves sunsets. The place accommodated 11 of us easily. We were able to fish and relax on the deck. Beautiful place… the only down side was bed in the bedroom near the kitchen. My parents said it felt like it caved inwards so they didn’t rest well. Thank you Chris for being so quick to respond and allowing us to bring my daughter’s birthday in amongst family on the beach!”

“The Big Kahuna was definetely the perfect house to stay with a large group family/friends. We love that all the bedrooms has its own bathroom. The house was really spacious that all of us there 9 adults, 3 children, and 2 dogs has room to move around without bumping each other. Our children love the bunkbeds bedroom downstairs. The neighborhood were quite and peaceful. The beach is less than 5mnts of a drive. Chris is also a very great host! He is proactive and very responsive with messages.
