“This was a great place to stay for the beach. Decent area, a lot of things in walking distance. The place itself was pretty good, exactly what was in the pictures. Everything was great, it was a bit dusty but nothing terrible. I felt very safe and it was a great place to stay in for a few days. The host is lovely and has a very quick response time which I appreciated. I would stay here again.”

“Host was extremely responsive and friendly! My only critiques are that the ac unit couldn’t keep up with the temps even at night and the pull out bed wasn’t super comfy. Otherwise it’s a cute little spot. Close to everything and had everything we need!”

“We enjoyed our stay at the coastal cottage! Our favorite part was that the beach was definitely walkable from the place saving us money for parking. When we got there it was clean and well maintained inside. They gave us an ice tray which was very nice and the small fridge held a lot of food. We stayed 8 nights and only ate out 3 times. So it held enough food for 2 people for that time. On the downside the air conditioner didn’t keep up great so it got a little warm. Not in bearable but the highs were in the 80s outside, not sure how it would do in the summer. Also we saw a couple of cockroaches. With that said it was a good value for what we paid and we were satisfied with our stay and would come again!”

“The host was extremely responsive and communicative. Very friendly! The unit itself - I hate to say - was a little below what I had expected. It’s an old building, so there are going to be a few hiccups here and there. And I do understand that. The bathroom gets very hot when you close the sliding door while showering. The split unit must not have been working because they had placed a window unit. It worked well enough, but it’s summer in Texas so it was a little warmer than I had hoped. I did go buy a fan and that helped a lot. I think the price point for this unit is a little higher than what I would pay again. It’s not terrible, and the area felt safe enough for a solo female traveler. It was nice to walk to the beach, too. All in all, I have no issues with BeachBox itself, but maybe updating the units would be nice. I don’t know if I’d stay here in the summer again. I am very thankful to the responsive host, Sam, though. Very kind and friendly.”

“The facility was exactly as described and was sufficient for our needs. The location is fine during the day, but after dark, it felt a little unsafe. Would be a great stay in a little safer area of Galveston.”

“Well insulated and appropriately isolated units. The first week of April is very low tourism and the place was almost empty, but I probably would have been fine even if it were busier.”
