This restaurant is family friendly with all kinds of food that everyone will enjoy for lunch or dinner. Our personal favorites are the seafood gumbo, crab claws, seafood jalapeños, seafood platter, and any of their fresh seafood

Drop in to this classy cafe on your way to the West End! Enjoy a sandwich, like a salmon BLT, for lunch or a delicious entree, like lamb shank or red snapper, for dinner. They also have a full bar with signature cocktails and a kids menu.

Much more than just daiquiris, this bar has the best craft cocktails on the island. Open until 2am, this hidden gem is a great hangout spot, afternoon or night. Cozy up with a classic cocktail or be adventurous with a seasonal special!

This unassuming food truck on 61st St has the most amazing fried shrimp! You get 10 huge gulf shrimp with a variety of interesting flavors at a reasonable price. Our favorite flavors are buffalo and garlic parmesan.

If you’re dining out for a special occasion, this is your spot. The interior is immaculate yet classic, and the staff is very professional. We recommend the Mahi Mahi, the fresh catch of the day, the shrimp and grits, and deep sea scallops.

Galveston meets New Orleans at the Gumbo Diner, which offers southern breakfast staples, chicken & waffles, burgers, Texas Gulf fried shrimp, and, of course, gumbo in “Lil Daddy” and “Big Daddy” sizes. Save room for the fresh beignets too!

The interior of this hidden gem is eclectic and there’s always a lively crowd. We recommend the sweet potato jives, fried brussels sprouts, sleazy mac, and pizzas. Their desserts are amazing, too!

Located in the James Fadden Building, Hearsay on the Strand offers great drinks, contemporary dishes, and a “chic antique” ambiance! Don’t miss their unique, handcrafted cocktails that are perfect to enjoy in the Galveston heat!

Plating up the freshest seafood on the Island, Katie’s literally serves what they catch! Enjoy a waterfront view as you sip on their famous American Red Snapper cocktail, or swing by their market to buy your own fish to grill up at home!

A journey back in time to the 1920’s, La King’s offers more than 50 candies from old time recipes. Get your fill of handmade chocolates, ice cream, and novelty candies, and don’t miss a demo of them pulling their famous salt water taffy!

With two locations in Galveston Island (61st St. and in Pirate’s Beach), Mario’s Pizza is our favorite pizza joint on the Island. Come here if you like crispy crust, bubbling cheese and plenty of toppings. They have delivery too!

This coffeehouse, located in the historic Postoffice District of Galveston, serves handcrafted beverages, sweet treats, and healthy snacks. Relax among the mid century modern charm while you sip on one of their specialty lattes.

At Mosquito Café you’ll find eclectic, trendy food, a warm casual atmosphere, and friendly service. Voted best overall restaurant, best breakfast, and best business lunch by Galveston residents, you can’t go wrong any time of day here!

Conveniently located just outside of Jamaica Beach, Nate’s West End is a go-to for the locals. Their fantastic locally sourced menu brings some of the best fish that the Gulf has to offer!

Be sure to enjoy the views and a drink on their large covered patio or catch a football game inside! Nick’s also has an outdoor watering hole, the Redfish Pool Bar, where you can jump in and cool off from the Texas heat.

Located just blocks from the Strand, Red Light Coffee Roasters prides itself on ethically sourced coffee and their exclusive blends. Have a cup of coffee in one of their patio hammocks or while chatting with their friendly staff at the bar.

Galveston’s only rooftop bar offers gorgeous views of Galveston’s historic downtown and harbor. Enjoy delightful cocktails, an array of wine selections, craft beers, and more in their sophisticated lounge atmosphere.

Located in Sea Isle, this waterfront spot has great local seafood, burgers, and beers. We think they have the best fish and chips on the island. Enjoy a fun, relaxing atmosphere with water views and a cold margarita in hand.

From seafood tacos to fish and chips to pizza and more, Tipsy Turtle has something for everyone, including a kids’ menu. Located smack dab on the beach, enjoy a little sunbathing after sipping on a cold margarita. They rent beach gear too!

Craving some turf with your surf for a special occasion? Located in the heart of the historic downtown district, Vargas Cut and Catch is a contemporary steakhouse serving USDA Prime steaks and the freshest seafood available.

After a long day of fishing, bring your fish here, and they’ll cook it for you for only $12 while you relax on the waterfront patio and watch an amazing sunset. We also love their shrimp kisses and jalapeño boudin balls.
