Gilhooley’s offers indoor and outdoor seating and a vast menu, though they are best known for their oysters. Their flame grilled “oysters Gilhooley” are a must. The restaurant is for ages 18+ , so save it for an adults night out!
One of the oldest seafood joints in Kemah, Joe Lee’s has been serving some of the best seafood platters in town for decades. Make your own combo (fried or grilled), or come for Taco Tuesday for $1.99 fish or shrimp tacos.
This hole-in-the-wall taco joint is located at a gas station and is open as early as 5am. It’s the place to go in the area for your breakfast taco fix. Our favorites are the brisket taco and chorizo and egg taco!
Thai food may not be the first thing that comes to mind in Kemah, but this spot has become a favorite for locals and visitors alike! In addition to Thai classics, they offer a full bar and have TVs for sports.

If you’re in the La Porte area, this restaurant is one of few places open later in the evening. They’re best known for their pizza but also offer other Italian dishes, subs, and seafood (you’re on the Gulf Coast after all!).
You can always rely on The Wooden Spoon for a solid Southern-style lunch. Pig out on one of their burgers or opt for a large salad. Don’t forget to finish it off with a slice of pie!
