Christmas in Galveston means palm trees wrapped in lights, carolers in Victorian costume on the Strand, and a beach walk on Christmas morning instead of a snow shovel. When the whole family is coming together, where you stay matters most. You want room for everyone to sleep, a kitchen big enough for the holiday meal, and a place where the kids have something to do while the adults catch up.
At BeachBox, we host families across the island every holiday season, and a few of our homes are favorites for Christmas. Here are four we’d point you to first, from a downtown loft for six to a bayfront home for seventeen, plus the 2026 holiday events worth planning around and how to book before the best December dates are gone.
Market Street Loft C
If you want to be in the middle of the holiday action, Market Street Loft C puts you in historic downtown Galveston with the Strand right outside your door. That means you can walk to Dickens on the Strand, see a holiday show at The Grand 1894 Opera House, and wander the lit-up downtown streets after dinner without moving the car. The Seawall beaches are a short drive away when you want some sand.
The loft sleeps up to six guests in one bedroom and one bathroom. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a twin bunk bed, and a second twin bunk in the common area gives visiting kids or grandkids a fun place to sleep. It’s a renovated vintage space with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and an open kitchen, dining, and living area that works well for a relaxed Christmas morning. The large balcony overlooking downtown is the best seat in the house for watching the holiday crowds below.
Fast Wi-Fi keeps video calls with family back home easy, and there’s a washer and dryer, heating for chilly December nights, and room for one pet. Keep in mind this is a historic building with stairs up to the entry, so it’s best for couples and small families who are comfortable with a few flights.

Beachside Cottage
Beachside Cottage is the home we suggest to families who want a beach Christmas in the truest sense. It sits in the Beachside Village community, a short walk or golf-cart ride from a quiet, car-free stretch of sand made for a Christmas morning stroll.
The cottage sleeps up to 14 guests across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The king suite with its own bathroom gives the hosts a private retreat, the queen room fits another couple, and two bunk rooms, each with four twin beds, are ready for kids and cousins, with a sofa bed in the common area for one more. The private pool, hot tub, and game room with pool and ping pong tables keep everyone busy between presents and dinner.
The fully stocked kitchen is ready for the holiday feast, the fenced yard gives you privacy, and the four-car driveway fits the family’s cars. Up to two pets are welcome, so the dog doesn’t have to miss Christmas either.

Sunsets by the Bay
For big families who want water views and a little quiet between celebrations, Sunsets by the Bay in the West End’s Sea Isle community is hard to beat. The home looks out over the bay, with a wide deck and a primary bedroom made for slow mornings and long winter sunsets.
This is our largest Christmas home, sleeping up to 17 guests across six bedrooms and four bathrooms, with three king rooms, three queen rooms, and extra twin and double beds for the kids. Along with the main living space, there’s a ground-level apartment with its own kitchenette and living room, so grandparents or a second family get their own space. Multiple kitchens mean more than one cook can work on dinner at once, and fast Wi-Fi and a washer and dryer make a full house easy to manage.
Outside, a fire pit, gazebo, grill, and private pool make a natural gathering spot on Christmas Eve, and the private fishing pier and boat slip give anglers in the family a holiday morning of their own. The beach at Sea Isle is a short drive away. Please note this home isn’t pet-friendly.

Ahab’s Lookout
In Jamaica Beach, Ahab’s Lookout gives you canal-front living in a friendly small-town neighborhood. There are water views from the front and back of the house, several balconies and decks, and a private boat dock right off the property.
The home sleeps up to 12 guests across six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Two primary suites on the main level give the adults their own space, and upstairs, two more bedrooms plus two bunk rooms turn Christmas Eve into a cousins’ sleepover. The kitchen with its island has room for everyone to help with the holiday meal, and two living areas, a washer and dryer, and parking for up to six cars keep things comfortable.
This is also the home for families who like to stay active over the holidays. Kayaks and bicycles are on hand, the canal is right outside for fishing, and pool heating is available for an extra daily fee, so ask us about pool heating for your dates. Add the hot tub, and you have a holiday tradition nobody back home can match. Up to two dogs under 50 pounds are welcome, and the Jamaica Beach access point is a short drive away.

Choosing Your Christmas Home
Here’s how we usually match guests. If you’re a couple or a family of up to six who wants to walk to Dickens on the Strand, choose Market Street Loft C. If you want a beach Christmas for up to 14 with the dog along, Beachside Cottage is the pick. If you’re hosting several generations, up to 17 guests, and want everyone to have their own space, go with Sunsets by the Bay. And if you want a pool with heating available, canal life, and room for up to 12, Ahab’s Lookout is the one.
These four homes are just the start. You can browse all our homes across Galveston, Jamaica Beach, Surfside, and Kemah at BeachBox, and our team is happy to help you find the right fit for your holiday dates.
