Visitor Guide
Stewart Beach Park is located at 401 Seawall Boulevard, right where Broadway Avenue meets the Seawall.
Admission to Stewart Beach is $15 per vehicle and is available Monday through Sunday during amenity operating hours. You can pay with cash or credit, and your admission includes one-time entry only (there is no re-entry with the same payment). Limited free parking is also offered for qualifying vehicles: owners displaying plates or placards with the International Symbol of Access are exempt from parking fees.
If you plan to visit more than once, you can purchase a year-long Seasonal Beach Parking Pass for $50, available at Stewart Beach, for unlimited entry.
You’ll find plenty of convenient amenities for a hassle-free beach day, including restrooms and showers, lifeguards on duty during operating hours, and rentals for umbrellas and chairs. When you’re ready for a treat or a bite, there are on-site concessions with snow cones and ice cream, along with a food truck for easy meals and snacks. Beach wheelchairs are also available at no cost with a valid driver’s license.
Swim near lifeguards when they are on duty, and follow directions from Beach Patrol staff. Check the posted beach warning flags before entering the water, since conditions can change quickly. If the surf looks rough, stay in shallow water and keep children within arm’s reach.
Expect the busiest days from spring through summer, with hot sun and occasional bugs, so pack sunscreen and insect repellent. Winter is quieter and more relaxed, with fewer places open but great conditions for peaceful beach walks and mild coastal weather.
Stewart Beach is close to some of Galveston’s best sightseeing, so it’s easy to turn your beach day into a full island day. After the sand, head west along the Seawall for classic oceanfront views, or explore shopping and dining in the Strand Historic District. For a nearby museum stop, check out the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum, a unique, family-friendly experience on the harbor just off the Strand.
Make your Stewart Beach trip even easier by staying nearby. BeachBox offers a variety of Galveston vacation home rentals just minutes from Stewart Beach, giving you a comfortable place to relax after a full day on the sand.
Beach experiences can vary widely. This overview highlights what to expect so you can decide if it’s a good match for you.

Activities
Because Stewart Beach is close to downtown Galveston and the Seawall, it’s easy to pair a beach day with the island’s biggest seasonal events. In February, Mardi Gras Galveston brings parades, live music, and festival energy to the nearby Strand and downtown area.
